Are you or a family member seeking ways to stay independent and live a good life as you age? Home Care Packages could be the answer you are looking for!
Home Care Packages (HCP) provide an affordable care solution for seniors, allowing them to receive care within their home rather than in a senior care facility. Those who benefit from Home Care Packages can utilise a range of services that ensure their safety at home and help them remain engaged with their community.
Funded by the government, these packages are created to help elderly Australians remain living in their own homes and still get the aid and attention they require. These packages are intended to provide a large range of services and assistance, from basic housekeeping to high-level care needs for example allied health services and personal care.
A key question to ask is: Am I qualified to get a Home Care Package?
To answer this, an evaluation with the Aged Care Assessment Team or Regional Assessment Service of the government must first be undergone. If you meet the requirements, you will be included in the My Aged Care national priority queue, and the packages available will be assigned according to the severity of your situation.
After being assigned a Home Care Package, you can then select a Home Care Provider and build an individualised plan that is tailored to your particular requirements and tastes. It is important to be aware that there are associated fees when using a Home Care Package which are shared between you and the government.
These fees can vary depending on the level of the package, your income and assets and may include a basic daily fee, an income-tested care fee, and extra fees. At SAI, we do not impose a daily fee. requirements, you will be included in the My Aged Care national priority queue, and the packages available will be assigned according to the severity of your situation.
Making sure you are receiving suitable care and assistance requires both care management and package management. Care management involves adjusting the care plan to meet your specific needs and wants, while package management covers the financial and administrative side of the Home Care Package, including budgeting and invoice handling.
It is imperative to keep in mind that Home Care Packages offer access to an array of services, like personal care, housekeeping, meal preparation, transport, and allied health services. If your requirements transform or you are not pleased with your Home Care Provider, you can always switch to another provider.
