Your local NDIS Support Service
SAI Home and Community Care is your local NDIS provider, supporting people throughout the South Eastern Metropolitan region of Melbourne, which includes Cranbourne, Langwarrin, Carrum Downs, Frankston, Hastings, Balnarring, Mornington, Mount Martha, Somerville, Dromana, Rye and Rosebud.
For up to 45 years our focus has been on connecting local support workers with local people and supporting members of our communities to live their best life at home with dignity, and control – for locals, by locals.
In addition to being one of the few truly local care and support providers in Home Care and NDIS in the Cranbourne, Frankston and wider Mornington Peninsula region, we are proud of the fact that our support team is made up of people who live and work around here.

We are also responsible for our team’s professional development and training, which means they are always across the latest NDIS and Department of Health’s requirements and rules.

Frequently Asked Questions
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides support to Australians under the age of 65 who are living with a permanent and severe disability that impacts their daily activities.
In Victoria, over 100,000 individuals benefit from participating in the NDIS, with 40,000 of them receiving support services for the first time.
The NDIS is managed by the National Disability Insurance Agency, who works with participants to develop an NDIS plan that aligns with their objectives and needs. Participants may require assistance in specific areas of their life, such as transportation or employment, while others may require more comprehensive support to improve their overall quality of life.
NDIS support workers play a crucial role in empowering individuals with disabilities to live their best lives and reach their full potential. The responsibilities of an NDIS support worker require a range of skills, including excellent communication, patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of those they support.
The key responsibilities of an NDIS Support Worker include:
- Providing practical and emotional support to individuals with disabilities
- Assisting with daily activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and mobility
- Facilitating access to the community and promoting social inclusion
- Working with individuals to understand their needs and develop customized support plans
- Implementing support plans and monitoring progress towards achieving goals and aspirations
- Providing respite care for families and carers
- Collaborating with other support workers, healthcare professionals, and service providers
- Providing transport and accompaniment to appointments and activities
- Keeping accurate records and updating support plans as needed
- Encouraging individuals to take an active role in their support and promoting independence
- Ensuring participants are safe, and reporting any incidents that may occur.
