Your Somerville NDIS Support Service

For up to 45 years our focus has been on connecting local support workers with local people and supporting members of our communities  to live their best life at home with dignity, and control – for locals, by locals.

In addition to being one of the few truly local care and support providers in Home Care and NDIS in the Somerville, Frankston and wider Mornington Peninsula region, we are proud of the fact that our support team is made up of people who live and work around here.

Local support workers

It’s our passion to connect local support workers with local people. Our team of qualified support workers are from your local area, and they are passionate about supporting people to reach their goals and aspirations.

We stay connected

We have a dedicated team of NDIS client coordinators who partner with you and your support coordinator to develop a support service that works for you to reach your goals. They are based locally, have years of experience, and unlike other providers, they are happy to meet up and stay in touch.

Build your local team

Our local SAI rostering team are only a quick phone call away. Working together with you and your SAI client coordinator, they support you in building a team of local support workers.

Peace of mind

Our support workers are legally employed by SAI, which means unlike independent contractors, SAI takes full responsibility for our team if anything were to go wrong. We are also responsible for our team’s professional development and training, which means they are always across the latest NDIS and Department of Health’s requirements and rules.

For locals by locals

All of our team, from our support workers, client coordinators, rostering, afterhours, quality and feedback, are from around your local area. Like you, we love it here and are always happy to share what our favourite local spots are! For locals by locals.

"Visited SAI to enquire about level 2 care for myself. From the first encounter with staff until I had exhausted all my questions, I was very impressed with all aspects of this service. SAI was the most impressive, and friendly, of all 7 companies I contacted. I feel secure in the knowledge that SAI will take good care of me. A great company."

Frequently Asked Questions

At SAI Home and Community Care we have available NDIS Support Workers in the following areas: (Click on the link to see more details about the relevant role)

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides support to Australians under the age of 65 who are living with a permanent and severe disability that impacts their daily activities.

In Victoria, over 100,000 individuals benefit from participating in the NDIS, with 40,000 of them receiving support services for the first time.

The NDIS is managed by the National Disability Insurance Agency, who works with participants to develop an NDIS plan that aligns with their objectives and needs. Participants may require assistance in specific areas of their life, such as transportation or employment, while others may require more comprehensive support to improve their overall quality of life.

NDIS support workers play a crucial role in empowering individuals with disabilities to live their best lives and reach their full potential. The responsibilities of an NDIS support worker require a range of skills, including excellent communication, patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of those they support.

The key responsibilities of an NDIS Support Worker include:

  1. Providing practical and emotional support to individuals with disabilities
  2. Assisting with daily activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and mobility
  3. Facilitating access to the community and promoting social inclusion
  4. Working with individuals to understand their needs and develop customized support plans
  5. Implementing support plans and monitoring progress towards achieving goals and aspirations
  6. Providing respite care for families and carers
  7. Collaborating with other support workers, healthcare professionals, and service providers
  8. Providing transport and accompaniment to appointments and activities
  9. Keeping accurate records and updating support plans as needed
  10. Encouraging individuals to take an active role in their support and promoting independence
  11. Ensuring participants are safe, and reporting any incidents that may occur.
